Well it's been awhile... once again! :) I use to get to sit down to the computer at least once a day... now I'm lucky to get online every few days... time changes when you have two children instead of just one...

We've had an eventful few months in our home. Jayden is now two and a half and Ethan turned one in November.

Happy one year Birthday Ethan!
It's so hard to believe how fast my babies are growing up! Ethan is walking all over the place while Jay is talking non-stop! They are both at such fun stages of development and I LOVE being home with them every day! :)

Bedtime stories with mommy. (I think I enjoy this time of the night more than Jayden does!)

Our visit with Santa... needless to say it didn't go quite as I had invisioned in my mind. However Jayden was very supportive of her brother being terified by the nice old man in the red suit. ha.

Christmas pictures this year.

And of course Jayden was making everyone laugh as they tried to get a good picture of her. Let's just say that she enjoys the attention and doesn't mind being the center of attention.

Sledding with Daddy. Mike loves doing the outdoors stuff with the kids! And I'm glad because I have no desire to be out in temperatures below 20 degrees!

Well that's it in a nutshell. I will try and get back to doing this more often. Have a Happy Valenties Day! *S

My big girl turned TWO last week! Happy Birthday Jayden!

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Jayden has become a huge fan of parks, the pool, and any other sort of outdoor activity this summer...

We have become fearless with our climbing/ willingness to try new things.

And after a fun afternoon at the park... time for a bath ...

My handsome little man.

And Jayden's got a new little friend that she's constantly talking about...
ELMO! (sigh...)

For the past two weeks Elmo has been all that she's talked about... so today  I broke down and bought her one to have of her own... to be quite honest I can't stand the little monster... I'd rather listen to Barney sing, "I Love you" 100 times over before I had to listen to Elmos screachy little voice... but my daughter has embraced the furry red animal and I've learned that I need to as well... (I'm secretly hoping that this phase passes....)

Summertime Fun!

Summer is in full swing here in the McManus home! On Sunday we went to the waterpark and this week swimming lessons began for my niece, Ashley. Things are going pretty good. God has been teaching Michael and I some pretty huge life lessons, so it hasn't been the easiest, but with Him by our side we are pressing through!

Jayden and Ethan are growing up so, so quickly! I've been trying to take time each day to just "enjoy" them. I think the demands of life can get overwhelming- sometimes I find myself so consumed with bills, grocery shopping, laundry etc that I forget to just embrace where we are at... so I'm trying to consciously make a decision to just sit down and "play" with my kiddos. It's been a good change for me and I know my kids are loving it too!!!

Jayden and Ethan. They are growing up so quick! He's already 7 months old & Jay is almost 2!

Jayden filling up the pool for some fun in the sun!

My little man! He's such a happy little guy!

Mike & I at the waterpark.

Jayden's first time down the waterslide. She LOVES to be in the water!

I love my little lady!

On another note.. I'm sure you've heard about all the flooding here in the Midwest. We got a little water in our basement, but that's nothing compared to what's happing downtown. (Only 5 minutes from us) So many have lost their homes. Please pray, as many areas in our state and city are considered "condemned".

I must admit... I haven't sat down to the computer to "enjoy" myself in a long time. Who would have ever guessed that a toddler and a newborn would demand so much of your time? I use to get online daily, but now I find myself sinking into the couch every night after Jayden goes to bed, cuddling up with my new little bundle of joy. It's seriously been crazy busy since Ethan was born. Even now as I type I have Jayden tantruming on the floor wanting my attention. You can tell it's almost bedtime in the McManus household.

Having two children is a lot of work... but very rewarding and  a lot of fun all at the same time! Jayden is now 17 months & Ethan is 21/2 months old. Every day is a new adventure. Ethan is smiling constantly and loves to "talk" to you. It's WAY cute! Jayden LOVES being a big sister and is always playing "mother hen". When Ethan cries she runs and gets his pacifier and tries to put it in his mouth. However- when she wants our attention she will go and steal his Pacifier and run laughing down the hallway. It's quite funny, yet irritating all at the same time. I don't know how many times a day I say, "Jay! Leave your brother alone!" She's always wanting to be wherever he is. And if she's wanting attention and not getting it she will hit Ethan, take his pacifier, or even try and lay on top of him! I am so looking forward to the day that he can fight back. I KNOW they will be the best of friends one day... Here's a picture of them playing together under his play gym:

I love my two beautiful babies! They are growing so very quickly!

Last week both Jayden and Ethan were sick. E was so sick that they had to put him in the hospital to monitor him. RSV is going around like wild fire right now- and they don't mess with babies under three months getting it. It was a hard week, as I came down with a nasty cold too, but we got through it, and now the three of us are feeling much better. I took a few pictures at the hospital:

Oh so sad! It was hard to see him hooked up to all of their monitors. He didn't like it at all.

This is what I'd rather see my little man like:

Just relaxing in his swing without a care in the world!

And this post wouldn't be complete without a few pictures of Jayden. Here's my little lady enjoying life!

Thats it for tonight! Good night! *Shannon
